JAM Club

JAM (Jesus And Me) Club is a fun youth club suitable from Year 1 right up to comp!  It runs on a Wednesday evening, during school term time, at the following times:

Mini JAM: Year 1 – Year 3, 6:00pm-7:00pm
Middle JAM: Year 4 – Year 6, 7:30pm-8:30pm
Big JAM: Year 7 +, 8:00pm-9:30pm

JAM Club is £1 per child – the children will not need to bring any other money with them as this covers their entrance and tuck shop.  In order to reduce cash handling, no change will be available on the door so please bring the correct change.

All children are required to be registered prior to them attending JAM Club, please click the button below to do this.  We also encourage you to read our ‘What To Expect At JAM Club’ section, where you will find more information about our Covid risk assessment and policies.

For your piece of mind, all our staff are police checked and activity leaders hold food hygiene certificates.  There is always a first aider on site too.  Each club runs slightly differently as we tailor it to suit the children attending; but there is always fun, games, crafts, activities, tuck shop, singing and a Bible story or lesson of some sort.

On very rare occasions we may have to cancel JAM Club at short notice (due to adverse weather/staff sickness), we recommend that you follow our Facebook page to keep up to date with any announcements.

What to Expect at JAM Club

We are sorry to have to present you with such a long list of procedures, but the safety of you and your children & our staff is of paramount importance to us. We have produced a thorough Risk Assessment based on government guidelines & feel confident that with your help & support, we can reopen safely. Please familiarise yourself with the following guidance.

We know that there is nothing here that you wouldn’t be doing already. So thank you for your patience.

  • Anyone who is symptomatic, has tested positive, is awaiting a test result or has been told to self-isolate by NHS Wales Test Trace Protect, must not enter our premises.
  • Registration – At your initial registration we will ask for contact details for Track & Trace purposes. These details will never be shared & will be kept according to GPDR regulations. Each week we will keep a register of attendees, including time of entry & exit for Track & Trace purposes.
  • Ventilation – Windows will be open in the church to aid ventilation, as suggested in government guidelines. We recommend that your child wears a warm layer of clothing!
  • Personal belongings – Please only bring essential personal belongings to minimise contamination. Coats will be kept on the child’s chair to avoid using the shared cloakroom.
  • Start time – Doors will open shortly before each JAM Club starts  If you arrive early, please wait outside/in your car.
  • A staff member will be waiting inside to welcome you & your child(ren). They will ask if you are all feeling well & are symptom free. If you have any symptoms, please remain at home to avoid embarrassment of both staff & yourself as you will be asked to go home
  • Handwashing – Children will be asked to clean their hands upon entry, after using the bathroom & before leaving the building. Child friendly sanitising foam will be available for children.  Soap & water can be used in the cloakroom if you prefer.
  • Masks  all adults will be expected to wear masks indoors as this is the law in Wales – except for those who are exempt.
  • Social distancing – We appreciate that young children are unable to social distance, but we require all adults to social distance from one another as much as they can. We realise that distancing is no longer a legal requirement but it remains good practise in recommended government guidelines across all settings.
  • Toilets – only one household at a time in the cloakroom please. We have provided anti-bacterial spray/wipes and encourage you to disinfect areas after use.  The toilets & other contact areas will be thoroughly cleaned & disinfected before & after each JAM Club.
  • Entry fee – there is a suggested donation of £1 per child.  Please pop this in the box on arrival. To avoid unnecessary contact with cash we will not be able to provide change.
  • Refreshments – We will provide wrapped tuck shop sweets for the children (this is included in their £1 entrance fee). We will give these out on their way out for them to enjoy at home.
  • Equipment – we will only be using equipment that is easy to clean, e.g. there will be no soft toys, books, very small items etc. We would ask that you don’t bring your own toys to avoid their contamination. Anti bacterial wipes will be available at ‘cleaning stations’ around the church and staff will be sanitising any shared equipment regularly. Equipment used in one club will be quarantined until the following week – i.e the same board game will not be used at both Mini and Middle JAM Club on the same week.
  • Shared activities – Sadly, guidelines do not allow shared activities, e.g. craft/cooking/playdough etc. We will however do some craft using individual wrapped packs where no sharing of equipment/supplies is needed.
  • Singing – Guidelines suggest that there should be very little singing indoors at present because of respiratory contamination. We will play some music for the children to enjoy instead.
  • Children will leave one household at a time & hand gel/sanitising foam will be available to use before you leave the church.
  • We will be encouraging all families to leave the premises promptly to ensure there is as little cross over between the 3 clubs as possible.
